The Client’s Vision
This Juhu penthouse was conceived as a complete luxury residence where high-performance entertainment, refined interior aesthetics, and intelligent home control had to work together without compromise. The property included 4 bedrooms, a large living room, dining area, kitchen, guest rooms, corridors, passages, terrace spaces, and a dedicated 4-seater Dolby Atmos theatre so the client wanted every part of the home to feel connected through one seamless audio-visual and automation ecosystem.
The brief was not limited to creating a good home theatre or a few isolated music zones. The client wanted the entire penthouse to respond like a modern intelligent home where television audio, music streaming, cinema, lighting, curtains, climate control, and daily convenience all operated in a simple and elegant way. Every space had to feel premium, but never overloaded with visible technology. The result had to look luxurious, perform at a serious level, and remain easy for the family to use every day.

The Design Challenge
The biggest challenge in this project was balancing large-scale AV integration with the clean visual standards expected in a premium Juhu penthouse. Multiple spaces required different performance priorities: the living room needed discreet yet powerful entertainment sound, common areas needed smooth distributed music, the master bedroom required a luxury visual statement, the terrace needed outdoor audio that blended naturally into the surroundings, and the theatre room had to deliver true Dolby Atmos performance with proper acoustic discipline.
At the same time, the home had to be unified under a complete automation platform integrating AV, lighting, curtains, air conditioning, fans, and other electronics into one dependable control system without making the house feel technical or cluttered. The execution became even more demanding because the project timeline extended across 4 years due to the COVID-19 period, so maintaining design consistency, equipment planning, and final system integration required careful long-term coordination.
Living Room
Living Room Entertainment : Discreet Power for Everyday Luxury
The large living room was designed as the main everyday entertainment zone, where the family could enjoy television audio and music streaming in a refined but powerful environment. To preserve the luxury interior while still achieving wide and immersive sound coverage, 8 Gallo Acoustics A’Diva ceiling-mounted speakers were installed and custom painted to match the ceiling finish. This allowed the sound system to disappear visually while still delivering a distinctive high-quality audio experience. To add proper low-frequency depth and scale, 2 JL Audio d110 active subwoofers were integrated into the living room system, giving the space the bass authority needed for both television content and music playback without disturbing the room’s elegance.

Eight A’Diva ceiling-mounted speakers were custom painted to match the ceiling finish, allowing the audio system to disappear entirely into the penthouse interior. Their spherical form and wide dispersion delivered a distinctive and enveloping listening experience across the full living room, suited to both television audio and casual music streaming at the quality level a luxury penthouse demands.
JL Audio d110 Active Subwoofers × 2
Two JL Audio d110 active subwoofers added the bass authority needed for television content and music playback without disturbing the room’s elegance. Their compact, self-powered format made integration straightforward while their output capability ensured the living room felt full and substantial rather than thin — essential in a large open-plan penthouse space.

The dining area, kitchen, 2 guest rooms, corridors, and passages were designed as connected music zones so the penthouse could maintain a smooth and enjoyable audio presence beyond the main entertainment spaces. For these areas, 18 Gallo Acoustics Micro ceiling-mounted speakers were installed to provide discreet distributed audio throughout the home. Their compact form factor made them ideal for a project where visual cleanliness was just as important as sound performance. Instead of treating these areas as secondary spaces, the design ensured that the penthouse delivered a premium music experience in every movement path of the home.

The master bedroom was given a distinctive luxury feature with the installation of a Bang & Olufsen Beovision Harmony 65-inch television with integrated speaker system and motorised floor stand. This product was not selected only for display performance, but also for the visual theatre it creates within a room. Its sculptural presence and motorised movement helped the bedroom feel sophisticated, modern, and highly curated acting as a luxury AV centrepiece rather than a standard bedroom television.

Bang & Olufsen Beovision Harmony 65-inch
The Beovision Harmony combined premium display performance with a motorised opening mechanism that reveals the integrated speaker wings as the television powers on a moment of visual and acoustic theatre that suited the penthouse’s luxury character perfectly. Its integrated speaker system meant the master bedroom required no separate audio components, keeping the space visually uncluttered while delivering the high-quality sound expected in a premium master suite.
Terrace
Terrace Outdoor Audio : Weatherproof Landscape Integration
The terrace areas were designed to support relaxed outdoor listening and social gatherings without introducing visually intrusive audio equipment. Four Klipsch rock speakers were used so the system could blend naturally into the terrace environment while still delivering strong outdoor sound coverage. This approach allowed the landscape and architectural features to remain visually dominant while the music system stayed discreet. A Denon network integrated amplifier powered the terrace audio system, providing reliable streaming capability and straightforward control extending the penthouse’s premium AV ecosystem seamlessly from indoors to the open air.

Four Klipsch rock speakers were landscaped into the terrace environment, their natural stone-style form disappearing into the surroundings while delivering strong and weather-resistant outdoor coverage. They gave the penthouse’s outdoor spaces the same quality of audio that the indoor rooms enjoyed, without any visual compromise to the rooftop’s premium aesthetic.

The Denon network integrated amplifier provided reliable streaming capability and straightforward control for the terrace system. Its network streaming integration allowed music to be sent to the terrace from the same app used for the indoor zones, ensuring that outdoor entertaining felt like a natural extension of the penthouse’s unified AV ecosystem rather than a separate system to manage.
4-Seater Dolby Atmos Theatre
4-Seater Dolby Atmos Theatre : 7.2.4 Private Cinema
The dedicated 4-seater theatre room was designed as a serious private cinema with a full Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 speaker layout. Triad InWall speakers were selected throughout for their architectural invisibility and cinema-grade performance — keeping all drivers hidden within walls and ceiling while preserving the tonal coherence and dynamic authority a proper Dolby Atmos presentation demands. Four JL Audio F110v2 active subwoofers provided deep, articulate, and evenly distributed low-frequency impact, while a JVC DLA-NZ7 laser projector and 135-inch acoustically transparent Elite screen completed a true cinema-style arrangement where image and sound worked together properly.

Their in-wall format placed them directly behind the acoustically transparent screen, ensuring dialogue and on-screen action were perfectly locked together spatially the arrangement that defines a true cinema-style installation rather than a media room compromise.

Four Triad InWall Gold/4 Surround speakers handled both the side surround and back surround positions, creating a controlled and immersive wraparound sound field suited to a dedicated theatre environment. Their in-wall placement maintained the room’s clean visual presentation while contributing to the seamless surround continuity that makes a Dolby Atmos theatre feel genuinely enveloping from every seat.

Four Triad InCeiling Gold/8 MiniMonitor speakers were installed as the overhead height channels, giving the theatre the dimensional height effects required for a convincing Dolby Atmos presentation. The JVC DLA-NZ7 laser projector delivered the high-contrast, accurate-colour image quality needed to match the theatre’s audio authority. Its laser light source provided consistent brightness and colour across every screening session, without the gradual degradation of lamp-based projectors, ensuring the visual experience remained as compelling in year three as it was on opening night.
Elite Screens 135-inch Acoustically Transparent Screen
The 135-inch Elite acoustically transparent screen allowed the Triad front LCR speakers to be positioned directly behind it, achieving perfect dialogue localisation between screen image and centre channel sound. This arrangement is fundamental to a true cinema-style installation, and the transparent weave ensured no perceptible tonal or frequency loss between the speakers and the audience.

Complete home automation formed one of the most defining parts of this penthouse project. The entire house was controlled through Crestron and KNX automation solutions, allowing curtains, lights, air conditioning, fans, and electronic systems to operate through touchpads, smart switches, and motion sensors. This gave the residence a unified control backbone where daily living and entertainment functions worked together naturally rather than as separate systems requiring separate management.
One of the main strengths of the automation design was its simplicity from the client’s perspective. A home of this size, with multiple entertainment zones and environmental controls, can easily become complicated if every system requires independent operation. By bringing everything under a Crestron and KNX ecosystem, the house became intuitive to use, visually cleaner, and far more comfortable in day-to-day life.
Scene-Based Living
Scene-Based Intelligence : Anticipatory Comfort
The automation system enhanced the luxury character of the home by supporting scene-based living. Lighting moods, curtain operations, AV activation, and comfort settings could all work together depending on the time of day or the activity taking place. Whether the family was using the theatre, listening to music in common areas, relaxing in the master bedroom, or enjoying the terrace, the home responded in a coordinated and intelligent way. Motion sensors further improved usability by allowing selected areas to react automatically making the penthouse feel more advanced, seamless, and future-ready without requiring the family to manage any individual system manually.
