The Client’s Vision
This Juhu project was designed for a client from the film industry, which meant there was no room for compromise and no tolerance for error. The client wanted a dedicated theatre that could reproduce cinema exactly the way it should feel, with the best possible components available at that time carefully selected and integrated into one seamless system. The room had to deliver reference-level performance in both sound and picture, while also meeting the expectations of someone who understands film presentation at a professional level.
The theatre was built as a 15-seater dedicated cinema with a separate projection room, and the scale of the room demanded a serious architectural and technical approach. Every decision had to support immersive performance, from the choice of processors and amplifiers to the screen, projector, and acoustical treatment. Since the client expected the best, we spent extra time on calibration, soundproofing, and system integration so that the final theatre would feel complete, precise, and worthy of its purpose.

The main challenge was to create a private cinema that could match the expectations of a film-industry client while still functioning as a refined luxury theatre inside a residence. That meant perfecting the speaker layout, projection geometry, subwoofer integration, and room isolation. Since the room had to support 15 seats, it also needed sound coverage, strong dialogue clarity, powerful dynamics, and an immersive experience across the full seating area.

The theatre was built around a powerful JBL Synthesis and Triad-based architecture, combined with Rotel amplification and a JBL SDP-75 processor. This gave the room a strong cinematic foundation with accurate surround handling and the ability to support advanced immersive playback. The overall sound design was focused on precision, scale, and reliability, which was essential for a project of this level.

Triad CinemaReference CR LCR2
These front speakers handled the left, center, and right channels and formed the main screen soundstage. They were chosen because they deliver high output, refined detail, and controlled cinema performance behind an acoustically transparent screen. In a dedicated theatre, this kind of speaker is ideal because it supports strong dialogue intelligibility and seamless screen anchoring.
Triad CinemaReference CR Surround2
These surround speakers were used for the side and rear channels and helped create a wide, enveloping sound field across all 15 seats. They added spatial detail and movement to the theatre, which is important in a reference-grade cinema. Their design suited the room’s premium performance goals and helped maintain consistent tonal balance.
Triad InCeiling Gold/8 Omni SE
These speakers were used for the overhead Atmos layer and added height dimension to the soundstage. They helped create true 3D immersion for modern film soundtracks and enhanced the sense of vertical realism in the room. Their ceiling integration also kept the theatre visually clean.
Triad CinemaReference CR 21 Subwoofers × 4
Four CR 21 subwoofers were used to provide deep and powerful bass throughout the room. They gave the theatre the low-end energy required for cinematic impact while maintaining control and precision. In a 15-seater room, multiple subwoofers were essential for even bass coverage and strong performance across all rows.

JBL Synthesis SDP-75 Processor
The SDP-75 was the main surround processor for the theatre and provided advanced immersive audio handling. It was a strong choice because it supported high-end home cinema processing with the flexibility needed for a room of this scale. Its role was to manage the full signal chain with accuracy and stability.
Rotel RMB 1585 Power Amplifier
This five-channel amplifier was used to power major speaker channels with strong and reliable output. It was selected to give the system the current and control needed for serious theatre playback. Rotel’s clean amplification helped preserve detail and dynamics in the cinematic mix.
Rotel RB1582 Power Amplifier
This stereo amplifier was added to support additional channels and maintain consistent power delivery. It contributed to the system’s overall authority and helped the theatre handle demanding content with ease. Its inclusion added flexibility to the amplification architecture.
Rotel RMB 1555 Power Amplifier
This five-channel amplifier handled additional speaker duties and supported the full theatre configuration. It helped balance the load across the system and ensured that every channel received proper power. This was important in a multi-seat theatre where consistency matters from one side of the room to the other.
Triad RackAmp 700 DSP Subwoofer Amplifiers × 4
Four RackAmp 700 DSP amplifiers powered the subwoofer system and gave it precise control. They allowed the low-frequency response to be managed carefully, which is crucial in a premium cinema. This made the bass feel deep, organized, and fully integrated with the main speakers.

SIM2 NERO 4 UHD Projector
The projector delivered premium 4K cinematic picture quality and was well suited to a room built for serious movie viewing. It provided the brightness and clarity needed for a large dedicated theatre. The projector’s performance matched the scale and ambition of the room.
Panamorph Anamorphic Lens
The anamorphic lens allowed the theatre to present true 2.35:1 Cinemascope content at its full intended width. This made movies feel larger and more theatrical, which is especially important in a private cinema for a film-industry client. It also helped maximize the performance of the projection system.
Screen Innovations 180″ 2.35:1 Curved Screen
The curved screen gave the theatre a grand cinematic feel and supported the widescreen presentation beautifully. Because it was acoustically transparent, it allowed the front speakers to sit behind the screen without affecting sound placement. This is the right solution for a theatre that aims to feel like a professional screening room.

This player provided high-quality disc playback and remained an important part of the theatre’s source chain. It gave the client a reliable way to enjoy Blu-ray content with strong picture and sound quality. In a premium theatre, a dependable disc source like this is always valuable.
Apple TV
Apple TV was included to give the client convenient access to digital content and streaming playback. It added flexibility to the theatre and made it easy to switch between physical media and modern streaming sources. This helped the room stay practical for everyday use.
UFO Club Cinema
UFO Club Cinema expanded the content options by connecting the theatre to a dedicated movie network platform. This gave the client an additional source for curated cinema content beyond discs and streaming. It was a useful addition in a theatre designed for serious movie viewing and content flexibility.
Control & Acoustic Engineering
Crestron AV and Lighting Control
Crestron AV and lighting control was used to make the theatre simple, elegant, and highly practical to operate. It allowed the client to control the room’s lighting scenes and AV functions from a unified platform, which is important in a theatre of this scale. With one-touch operation, the client could focus on the movie experience instead of managing multiple separate controls.
Acoustic Treatment and Soundproofing
The theatre received 100% soundproofing and the required acoustic treatment so that the room could perform properly without disturbing the rest of the home. This was especially important because the room sat inside a residential environment and had to contain both sound and vibration. The treatment helped the room sound controlled, balanced, and accurate for high-level cinema use.
