Signature Whole-Home AV & Private Theatre System — Barshi, Maharashtra
Barshi, Maharashtra
The Client’s Vision

This Barshi villa was designed as a highly intelligent modern home where the client wanted complete control over AV, lighting, and comfort systems with no compromise in performance. The property included a two-storey residence, a gym, an indoor pool, a theatre room, underground parking, and a pool area connected to the living room, so every space had to be planned as part of one integrated lifestyle environment. The client wanted the house to feel modern, refined, and easy to use through Control4, KNX, iPad, and iPhone-based operation.
A major part of the brief was music integration between the living room and indoor pool area. Both zones needed to work independently or together depending on the moment, so the system had to support flexible multi-zone playback with simple Control4 presets. Bedrooms needed practical TV and soundbar solutions, the gym needed high-quality music playback, and the theatre had to deliver a serious Dolby Atmos experience. The result was a complete home entertainment and automation ecosystem built around convenience, flexibility, and premium performance.
Design Challenge
The Design Challenge
The challenge was to unify a large home with many different use cases into one seamless system. The living room and pool area had to share music when required, while the rest of the house needed zone-specific AV that remained elegant and simple. The theatre also had to meet true cinema standards, which meant proper speaker layout, screen size, projector selection, amplification, and acoustic execution.
Living Room and Pool Zone
Living Room and Pool Zone
The living room and indoor pool area were designed as connected zones so the client could enjoy music either separately or together. Since the pool was next to the living room, the audio needed to flow naturally between both spaces without disturbing the design. We used ceiling speakers in the living room and rock speakers near the pool so the system could blend into the architecture while still delivering balanced sound.

Speaker System
The Speaker System
DALI PHANTOM E-80 In-Ceiling Speakers
These six ceiling speakers were used in the living room to provide clean and discreet audio. Their in-ceiling design kept the room visually uncluttered while delivering full-range sound for everyday music and TV playback. They were ideal for a space where the client wanted elegant integration and flexible listening.
Jamo Rock Speakers
These four rock speakers were placed near the pool area to provide outdoor-style audio in a discreet form. Their landscape-friendly appearance made them suitable for a villa where aesthetics mattered as much as performance. They helped create a seamless audio connection between the living room and pool zone.
Rotel RMB 1512 Multi-Channel Amplifier
This amplifier powered the shared zone system and allowed the living room and pool audio to work individually or together. It provided the stable output needed to support multiple speakers across two connected spaces. The amplifier also supported the flexibility required for custom Control4 scenes and presets.
Media Player
The media player was integrated to provide easy music playback across both zones. It made it simple for the client to stream content and enjoy synchronized audio where needed. This helped keep the system practical and easy to use.

Bedrooms
Bedrooms
Each bedroom was fitted with a Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 2 soundbar and television, giving the client a simple and premium entertainment solution. This made the bedrooms easy to use while keeping the visual design clean and modern. The soundbars were a practical fit for a house that valued both convenience and design discipline.
Bowers & Wilkins Panorama 2
This soundbar was chosen because it offers strong audio in a compact and elegant form. It worked well in bedrooms where the client wanted TV sound without installing a more complex system. Its clean design matched the overall luxury character of the villa.
Gym Audio
Gym Audio
The gym needed motivating music playback that could support workouts without taking up visual space. We used Bowers & Wilkins AM1 speakers because they are durable, attractive, and capable of delivering good sound in an active room. The room was powered by a Rotel RA-12 integrated amplifier, which provided clean and dependable playback.

Private Theatre
Private Theatre
The private theatre was designed as a 12-seater Dolby Atmos cinema with a 9.2 channel configuration and a serious projection setup. This room was the most technical part of the villa and had to deliver premium cinema quality inside a private residence. We used ASCENDO speakers, Yamaha processing, Bryston amplification, dual Velodyne subwoofers, and a JVC projector with a large acoustically transparent screen to achieve a true theatre experience.

Speaker System
The Speaker System
ASCENDO CCRM12 LCR
These front speakers formed the core of the theatre and delivered powerful, precise screen sound. They were a strong fit for a serious cinema because they can handle demanding movie playback with clarity and authority. Their reference-style performance made the front stage feel large and controlled.
ASCENDO CCM5-P Surround Speakers
These four surround speakers were used for the main surround channels and helped build a wide immersive sound field. They supported accurate movement and envelopment around the audience. Their discreet installation also kept the room neat and visually clean.
ASCENDO CCM5-P Surround Back Speakers
The two surround back speakers completed the rear layer of the 9.2 layout. They added rear image continuity and helped the theatre feel more enveloping from every seat. This was important in a 12-seater room where coverage needed to remain consistent.
Velodyne DD12+ Subwoofers
Dual DD12+ subwoofers provided the low-frequency foundation for the theatre. They delivered deep, tight bass for action scenes and music playback while maintaining control. Their role was essential in giving the room proper cinematic weight.

Home Automation
Automation and Control
The complete villa was managed through a combined Control4 AV and KNX lighting automation system, giving the client one unified way to control the entire home. This meant lighting, music, theatre scenes, and zone-wise audio could all be operated from a single interface instead of using separate remotes or manual switching. The iPad and iPhone control made the system convenient for everyday use, while touch-based operation kept the experience modern and intuitive.
The automation was designed to make the house feel responsive and effortless. Motion sensors were used in practical areas so lights could activate automatically when someone entered a space, and presets were created to suit different moods and routines. For example, the client could easily choose a music mode, movie mode, or evening ambience scene without adjusting each device individually. This kind of control not only improved comfort but also made the entire villa feel more refined, efficient, and intelligent.
