The name ACCUPHASE was adapted by taking the prefix ACCU from the word "accurate" and combining it with PHASE which is a most important factor in audio technology. Accuphase feel is a very fitting brand name to describe our products that fully portray this and other important characteristics, which penetrate the innermost depth of audio technology. Accuphase endless pursuit of quality requires a very high degree of processing which persuades us to avoid the use of mass production systems. Consequently, production volume is limited and Accuphase products are available only at a restricted number of specialized stores.
Accuphase equipment is not subject to the whims of market fashion since they are made, above all, to achieve true high fidelity sound reproduction. This is the foremost reason why Accuphase products have enjoyed long-run production.

In the mid '70s Ray Kimber worked at a sound and lighting company in Los Angeles. The first big discotheques were being installed at that time. Traditionally sound and lighting systems were not installed right next to each other, nor did lighting systems ever have such an array of noise generating fixtures, such as strobes and other flashing and dimmable lights. But in a discotheque the lights and speakers are installed next to each other. The speaker cable was acting as an antenna array and bringing noise from the lights into the sound system.
Over the years Ray would continue to test various metals as conductors, assorted manufacturing protocols, assorted stranding sizes, different twist lengths and insulation, as well as methods for adhering insulation to cable. All the time improving, modifying, and expanding upon his original cable concept and design.
The genesis of something, very, very special occurred in a tiny tin shed in Hope, Arkansas in 1946 when Paul W. Klipsch, genius, madman, and maverick, designed and hand-built the legendary Klipschorn® speaker with the goal of bringing live music into his living room.
In the understatement of the century, we'd say he succeeded.
The tin shed is now a full-fledged factory with its own cabinet production line and the company’s headquarters have moved to Indianapolis, Indiana; however, the mission remains to create the world's best speakers.
It was during his service at the Southwest Proving Grounds located in Hope, Ark. that Paul W. Klipsch refined his corner horn speaker design. Visitors to his officer's quarters were amazed by the lifelike reproduction and encouraged PWK to start his own manufacturing business.
He received a patent on his loudspeaker design in 1945, registered the name Klipsch & Associates in 1946, and began making each loudspeaker with his own two hands until he hired his first employee in 1948.
The demand for comfort and versatility in the management of heating, lighting, and access control systems for a family home as well as an office complex is growing. At the same time, the efficient use of energy is becoming increasingly important. People want a comfortable, sustainable, and safe place to live and work and that's where automation jumps in.
However, more convenience and safety together with lower energy consumption can only be achieved by intelligent control and monitoring of all products involved. This is a true challenge as it implies more wiring, running from the sensors and actuators to the control and monitoring centers. For professionals, such a mass of wiring also means higher design and installation efforts, increased fire risk, and soaring costs. That's where KNX jumps in!

While other manufacturers were building audio dinosaurs in the form of coffin-sized boxes, M&K led the way into the future with the world’s first satellite/subwoofer system, David & Goliath in 1976. The following year, M&K Sound introduced the Volkswoofer, the world’s first subwoofer with a built-in, dedicated power amplifier.
The journey began in 1973 when Walter Becker of Steely Dan commissioned M&K Sound to design a studio reference subwoofer and monitoring system for the Pretzel Logic LP mixing sessions. The result was the world’s first balanced dual-drive subwoofer and Pretzel Logic went on to become a million-selling Top Ten hit and one of Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
M&K Sound combined expertise in live music recording (RealTime Records) and loudspeaker design, drawing heavily on the research and acoustics background of Dr. Lester Field, who had worked at Bell Telephone Research Laboratories and been a full professor at both California Institute of Technology and Stanford University, before retiring as Chief Scientist and vice president of research at Hughes Aircraft Corporation.
By combining creativity, critical listening, and extensive experience in live sound recording with scientific methodology and experience, the foundation of M&K Sound was set.
As word of mouth spread rapidly throughout the music and movie industries, M&K Sound systems were created for leading studios, as well as home installations for producers, directors, actors, and recording artists.
M&K Sound loudspeakers have been chosen for the development and demonstration of the groundbreaking Dolby Digital cinema and home surround format, for the first public demonstration of the high-resolution Blu-ray disc format, for sound production on Star Wars Episodes I-III, and countless other award-winning music, film, and TV productions.
A Who’s Who of the professional audio world – film, music, mastering, and broadcast studios – continue to entrust their livelihood to M&K Sound reference monitors and powered subwoofers.
Saul Marantz, the legend behind Marantz's audio experiences, was a true pioneer of Hi-Fi.
Surrounded by music, Marantz found that a home music system that met his exacting standards in the early 1950s did not exist. He envisioned an entirely new architectural idea for sound reproduction. Employing his skill in electrical engineering, he built the proof of his concept - the Audio Consolette, a Hi-Fi pre-amplifier designed for the home.
In 1953, Saul's passion project became a business, and the Marantz Audio Company was born from his home in New York. Some of the most experienced globally engineer Marantz's products.

In 1972, a new kind of audio company was born. NAD took form when a large group of audio-industry importers in Europe, all music lovers, set out to develop products that cut through the industry hype.
The goal of NAD was to prove that excellent sound quality and excellent value could exist together. It was a formidable goal – some of the most reputable electronics brands of the time were unaffordable to most, while the affordable spectrum of the market was dominated by poor quality imports from global electronics giants.
NAD’s founders remained undeterred, and their original vision led to an inspiring story of how a group of specialty audio mavericks took on the Goliaths of the audio industry to carve out a unique place of their own.
Nagra is constantly innovating to provide the most elaborate audio recorders and High-End Hi-Fi playback equipment. Stefan Kudelski, Nagra founder, is the inventor of the portable recorder, back in 1951.
Naim Audio founder Julian Vereker MBE (1945-2000) was a racing car driver, entrepreneur, and self-taught engineer with a deep passion for music. Spending his spare time listening to and recording his friends playing live in the 1960s, Julian found that playback on his system at home fell woefully short of the experience he craved.
Not content with second best he decided to design his own amplifiers and loudspeakers, ignoring accepted wisdom and focusing on aspects of performance that made music burst to life. These first designs laid the foundations for a range of iconic and award-winning hi-fi products that would reach well into the next century.

Over 80% of the most popular movies are made in the cinema 2.4:1 aspect ratio for commercial theaters and even today’s streaming shows are migrating to this format. This content is meant and created to be the largest experience in your theater but on a flat panel TV or 16:9 projection system, it is actually displayed as the smallest experience with the lowest performance because millions of display pixels are turned off to create black bars.
But now today’s most popular projector models also include anamorphic upconversion modes for use with an external anamorphic lens to convert their full performance into the larger 2.4:1 cinema movie format for the highest brightness and detail – all while still providing modes for watching 16:9 content. This anamorphic advantage means these projectors can actually deliver better movie performance than you can get in most
commercial theaters and certainly higher than you can get with a flat-panel TV.
Panamorph makes anamorphic lenses for JVC, Epson, BenQ & Sony Projectors.
Powersoft is an Italian company specializing in the design, production and marketing of a wide range of professional high-end patented technologies for the professional audio market such as power amplifiers, loudspeaker components and software for use primarily in installed and live sound applications.

Now we offer fresh and innovative design solutions to build a complete audiovisual environment with exceptional performance and appearance so that people could find the right way to enjoy their favorite music and movies without missing any nuance of them.
A well-planned, fully automated, modular system constructed from the carefully designed products is cohesive, easily repeated, and scaled to different spaces, modified with certain boundary conditions, rapidly shipped, and smoothly installed. In addition, when the product development has been taken notice of an inexpensive and fast production, a good and reliable performance, and also when the items are seamlessly linked together in style, materials, and colours, the great advantages to the customer are obvious. In comparison, when the full custom cinema rooms are built without a good pre-design and using items of various manufacturers, the design and construction processes will be slow and expensive, resulting in the worst case a hugely expensive, poorly functioning unattractive mess.
This concept is the first system that will be able to deliver a modular solution with all the accessories, with an excellent AV performance, and at a price that many people can afford. In an average European town like Espoo where I live, there are hundreds of homes with empty garages and cellar rooms, where such a solution could fit.
Profigold is a European based brand. The Profigold Interconnects guarantees you quality enjoyment and the experience of a live performance. ... Profigold Interconnects are developed in the Netherlands for an optimum connection between vision, audio, media and for personal audio equipment.

In 2009 a new era began as Dantax took over the fantastic Raidho loudspeaker project. This new venture was another significant milestone in the history of Dantax. Hifi purists all over the world, consider Raidho to be among the finest loudspeakers developed and produced today. A wide range of prizes and awards from reviewers, magazines, and hifi shows worldwide reinforces this point of view.
Raidho Acoustics develops and manufactures loudspeakers for people with a sense of aesthetics. Those who think sound should be fantastic, want their listening experience to be out of the ordinary and expect good-looking equipment with an exceptional design and cool visual expression.
The unique technology of Raidho Acoustics is an extension of the classic technologies that have been at the heart of HiFi loudspeakers for years. But Raidho Acoustics have turned away from the mainstream development of “synthetic sound” or simulated HiFi. We operate with genuine articles. Developments in genuine HiFi had come to a standstill a few years ago until Raidho came up with some ideas for lifting HiFi sound to new levels. If you are interested, you will find documentation that “we do what we say” on this website, showing the fine test results and awards won in recent years by Raidho models in series 1, 2, and 3. “Speaker of the Year”. We are very proud of these awards, but we are humbled by the accompanying obligation to do things even better. Raidho is not for everyone. You need to know what you are looking for, and then Raidho will deliver what you want.

REL Acoustics make subwoofers. That’s it. Nothing else. No distractions. Nothing to steal REL Acoustics' focus. No kidding themselves that we can be good at everything. No trying to conquer the whole world. We just do REL Acoustics' best to conquer our bit of it.
Each day REL Acoustics employees come to work in pursuit of only one intention, to produce the rawest, perfect, pure sound possible, to capture the raw intention of the artist. REL uses the best quality materials and employs the most exacting construction requirements. Rel think of the problem holistically. Rel pursue the chase of the perfect experience of sound with an obsessive passion and vigor.
REL Acoustics do it because they love the sound. Rel believe sound can move people more than any other sense. REL Acoustics believe it’s the integration of the bass via the perfect subwoofer that makes everything else better. And, ultimately, there is a great deal of satisfaction to be gained from doing this well.
Every Revel product is the result of thousands of hours of work. Since 1996, we've relied on our technical resources, one-of-a-kind testing facilities, and cutting-edge design tools unavailable to most manufacturers to create every loudspeaker we produce.
That's how we continue to set the standard for acoustical accuracy and allow Revel customers to experience a level of acoustic clarity that they've never heard before.
Rockport Technologies began as Payor Acoustics Inc. in 1984 with the design of a compact, satellite/subwoofer loudspeaker system. Long ago we recognized that the two areas of greatest loss in an analog reproduction chain are where the transduction occurs from mechanical to electrical energy at the front end, and then back to mechanical (acoustical) energy at the loudspeaker.
Consequently, these two transduction sites provide the greatest opportunity for improvement in an audio system and have been the areas where we have focused our attention for more than 30 years.
Roksan was founded in 1985 by Tufan Hashemi and Touraj Moghaddam, graduates of the University of London, Imperial College London, and Queen Mary College. The name Roksan itself is derived from the name of Roxana, daughter of the Persian King Darius. This closely reflects the Persian heritage and roots of both Hashemi and Moghaddam. Not surprisingly many of Roksan's product names have references to names of cities, places, and famous people of Persia.
In November 2016, British loudspeaker manufacturers Monitor Audio Ltd acquired Roksan. With Monitor Audio, Roksan will be revising and refining current products and of course, developing innovative and desirable new products. The company will be able to offer superb-sounding combinations of award-winning electronics and loudspeakers designed to complement one another perfectly. The acquisition of Roksan by Monitor Audio will boost the quality, desirability, and strength of all products from both brands.
Rotel's new product development includes rigorous reviews of the circuit design and extensive listening sessions. Real performance gains are difficult to achieve and require careful component and circuit design consideration. they don’t launch products simply to have something “new” to sell. Product lifecycles are long compared to industry standards and new products are based on legitimate performance improvements. Maybe that is why Rotel has achieved such an abundance of international critical acclaim from enthusiastic audio fans and professional reviewers alike. Rotel components deliver more than simple entertainment. They provide an experience that resonates with people who want something more. Music and movies are visceral when played through the right system. You should expect nothing less than what the artist or director intended. Hear what over 55 years of electronic manufacturing experience can do for your audio/video enjoyment.
The Siltech was founded back in 1983 in Nijmegen – a two-thousand-year-old city thriving since Roman times in the Netherlands. From the start, Siltech invested heavily in research. It is something that continues to this day. Our focus was initially on researching the effects of different conductors, insulators, and construction formulations. That was on both empirical and subjective performance. In other words, we wanted to find out what makes cables sound the way that they do.
Soon, it was clear that existing measurement techniques were unable to explain audible differences. So, our engineers had to develop their specialized equipment surpassing the standards of the day. The result was Siltech’s first generation (G1) pure silver conductor. It changed what many people thought was possible from an audio cable. It established our brand. Also, it showed how serious we were about making people’s systems sound better. We have never looked back.

SME was formed in 1946 under the name “The Scale Model Equipment Company” to manufacture scale models and parts for the model engineering trade. During the 1950s SMEs moved away from model making to precision engineering, principally parts for aircraft instruments and business machines. The company expanded and diversified into engineering subcontracting, producing precision aircraft parts for prestigious companies such as Rolls Royce, Hawker & Martin Baker.
Mr. Alastair Robertson-Aikman designed a pick-up arm for his Hi-Fi System and on seeing the prototype friends in the Audio Industry encouraged him to produce it commercially. It was received with such enthusiasm that a new factory was built to meet the demand and the company’s name was changed to SME Limited to suit its new activities.
Now SME is based in the heart of the Sussex countryside at the foot of the south downs. With an extraordinary dedication to precision engineering and audio reproduction, they produce arguably the finest precision gramophone pick-up arms and turntables in the world. Owning an SME product is to possess a jewel of near perfection in both performance and construction.

StormAudio is the main brand of Immersive Audio Technologies, a French company of passionate people who design and manufacture Immersive Sound Processors and Power Amplifiers dedicated to High-End Home Theaters around the globe.
StormAudio company was founded by industry professionals with a shared vision to bring the cinema experience into the home. When immersive audio was first unveiled in 2011 by Dolby and Auro Technologies, it revolutionized the cinema-going experience. Storm Audio founders knew immediately that quality audio output was needed to convey the same impact in the home, and Storm Audio engineers began to develop hardware that could enable audiences to playback immersive cinematic sound in the comfort of their own homes.
In the early days, StormAudio worked closely with Auro Technologies to develop a product that could playback Auro 11.1 content in the home. The collaboration produced an integrated multichannel device focused on audio quality. However, we wanted to give consumers flexibility and the ability to choose from the diverse immersive formats being introduced to the market. Therefore, building on Storm Audio's initial design focused on audio quality, the Storm Audio engineering team began another 5 years of design and engineering research. Along the way, listening to feedback from Storm Audio customers, Storm Audio rewrote the rulebook to come up with a completely new architecture that is flexible and future-proof.
The inspiration for the Acoustic ART system came to our lead designer Ted Denney four years ago while sailing the South Pacific. During his sabbatical, Ted visited Buddhist Temples and observed how Tibetan Prayer Bowls altered temple acoustics.
These singing bowls affected a sudden shift in acoustics whenever they were activated, and when additional bowls of varying tone were also activated, the acoustics continued to change. Ted reasoned that a system of resonating bowls could be developed to discreetly treat room acoustics without the need for large unsightly tuning devices.
However, it wasn't until after Ted returned to the mainland and developed his TESLA Series cables that he revisited the idea of treating room acoustics with resonating bowls. We began our research by studying Helmholtz resonators, which have been used for over a century to tune low frequencies in an acoustic environment. We worked to modify Helmholtz resonator principles to incorporate the full spectrum of sound; not just low frequencies. We found we could tune music with a system of resonators working together in harmony at key acoustic pressure points. Further research led to several patent-pending. The first deals with the use of magnets to contour activation and decay properties of the Vibration and Magnetron Satellite resonators. The second includes a new resonator shape called the Vibration that radiates in a 360-degree pattern over a scientifically-arrived-at frequency range.
The third utilizes a unique dispersion baffle to precisely control how the Bass Station resonator affects a rooms' low-frequency acoustics. Later we discovered that using spikes to mechanically couple the Bass Station to a room further enhances control of low frequencies (the Bass Station's Stilettos). Next began a painstaking process to find resonator material with the correct mass that would operate at mathematically arrived at frequencies with target decay patterns. The accumulation of these scientific principles sets the Acoustic ART (Analogue Room Treatment) System apart from all other room tuning methods.
The history of TAGA Harmony begins in the early 90s.
P. Kokocinski and K. Richard, music lovers and specialists in the high-end audio realized that most speaker brands which claimed their products had top sound performance, offered them at extremely high prices but they did not really provide good sound quality for the money.
This prompted them to establish their own TAGA Harmony brand.
Tannoy originally as the Tulsemere Manufacturing Company in London, England in 1926, Tannoy presides over one of the longest and most distinguished histories in the world of audio equipment. The famous brand name originates from a solid-state rectifier invented by company founder, Guy R. Fountain, made from a Tantalum-Lead Alloy (hence Tannoy), an early indicator of the invention and technical innovation that would become the hallmark of the company throughout the 20th Century and remaining so to this day.
For many, the word 'Tannoy' is synonymous with public address, appearing in the Oxford English Dictionary as a communications system with loudspeakers, used for making announcements in public buildings. In fact, the phrase 'Over the Tannoy' is widely used in the UK and some other countries to describe a PA announcement. Few brands in audio have had such an impact in their field over a long period of time to enter the prevalent mindset in this way.
